Purchase Executive

About the Role

We are seeking a Purchase Executive to handle procurement of raw materials, components, and services for our manufacturing operations in Pune. You will be responsible for vendor management, price negotiations, and ensuring timely delivery of quality materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders
• Source and evaluate vendors for raw materials, components, and engineering services
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers
• Maintain vendor database and conduct periodic vendor performance reviews
• Follow up with suppliers for on-time delivery and resolve supply issues
• Coordinate with quality team for incoming material inspection and approvals
• Handle import documentation, customs clearance, and logistics coordination
• Maintain purchase records, contracts, and rate agreements
• Monitor market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and ISO procedures

Requirements

• Graduate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or B.Com/MBA
• 2-4 years of experience in procurement in manufacturing/engineering industry
• Good knowledge of engineering materials – metals, fasteners, bearings, electrical items
• Experience with ERP systems – SAP MM, Oracle Purchasing, or similar
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Understanding of import procedures and documentation (preferred)
• Computer proficiency – MS Excel, MS Office
• Analytical skills for cost analysis and vendor comparison
• Good organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities
