Manual QA Tester

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual QA Tester to join our quality assurance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through comprehensive manual testing. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify defects, verify fixes, and ensure that our applications meet the highest quality standards before release.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze software requirements and create comprehensive test plans and test cases based on functional and non-functional specifications
• Execute manual test cases across web, mobile, and API platforms to identify bugs, usability issues, and inconsistencies
• Document and track defects using bug tracking tools such as JIRA, providing detailed reproduction steps and severity assessments
• Perform regression testing to ensure that new code changes do not adversely affect existing functionality
• Conduct exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and scenarios not covered by formal test cases
• Collaborate with development teams during sprint planning and daily standups to provide quality insights
• Verify bug fixes and perform confirmation testing to ensure issues are properly resolved
• Participate in requirement reviews and provide feedback on testability and potential quality risks
• Create and maintain test documentation including test plans, test cases, and test summary reports
• Perform cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility testing to ensure consistent user experience
• Support UAT activities by preparing test data and assisting business users with testing procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 2-4 years of experience in manual software testing across web and mobile applications
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies
• Proficiency in creating detailed test cases, test plans, and test reports
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or Zephyr
• Knowledge of SQL for database testing and data validation
• Familiarity with API testing concepts and tools like Postman
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective defect reporting
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification is a plus
