UI/UX Designer

About the Role

We are looking for a UI/UX Designer with two to three years of professional experience to join our design practice in Pune. You will own the interface design for client web and mobile products end to end, from early wireframes through to the polished screens that go to development. This is a hands-on role suited to somebody past the junior stage who is comfortable running their own workstream, taking a brief from a client, and defending their design decisions with reasoning rather than taste. You will work alongside product managers and front-end developers, and your designs will ship.

Key Responsibilities

• Design user interfaces for web and mobile applications across the full project lifecycle, from concept sketches to development-ready screens
• Translate client requirements and user research findings into wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes
• Build and maintain component libraries and design systems in Figma so that work stays consistent across projects and hand-off is clean
• Run usability reviews on existing interfaces and recommend specific, prioritised improvements backed by evidence
• Produce high-fidelity mockups covering all states — empty, loading, error, and edge cases — not only the happy path
• Work directly with front-end developers during build, reviewing implementation against the design and resolving practical trade-offs
• Present and justify design decisions to clients and internal stakeholders, incorporating feedback without losing the underlying rationale
• Ensure designs meet accessibility standards including colour contrast, keyboard navigation, and screen reader considerations
• Design responsive layouts that work across desktop, tablet, and mobile breakpoints
• Maintain organised, well-named design files that another designer can pick up without a handover call
• Contribute to design critiques, giving and receiving feedback constructively
• Keep current with interface patterns and platform conventions on both iOS and Android

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Fine Arts, or a related field — or a portfolio strong enough to make the degree irrelevant
• 2-3 years of professional experience designing digital products, with a portfolio showing shipped work
• Strong command of Figma, including components, variants, auto-layout, and prototyping
• Demonstrable understanding of user-centred design methods and how research feeds design decisions
• Experience designing and maintaining or contributing to a design system
• Working knowledge of responsive and adaptive design across breakpoints
• Understanding of accessibility standards, particularly WCAG colour contrast and interaction requirements
• Enough familiarity with HTML and CSS to know what is straightforward to build and what is expensive
• Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain a design decision to a non-designer
• Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end process, not only final screens — we will ask about the middle
