Product Designer

About the Role

We are seeking a Product Designer with two to three years of experience to take ownership of product problems from definition through to delivery in our Pune studio. This role is broader than interface work: you will be asked what should be built as often as how it should look. You will sit close to product management and engineering, work from real user and business constraints, and be accountable for whether the thing you designed actually solved the problem it was meant to.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the design of product features end to end, from problem framing and discovery through to shipped interface
• Work with product managers to define what a feature needs to achieve before designing how it looks
• Conduct discovery activities including stakeholder interviews, competitor analysis, and lightweight user research
• Map user journeys and service flows, identifying where the current experience breaks down
• Produce wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs appropriate to the stage of the work
• Define success measures for design work and review post-launch data against them
• Facilitate design workshops with clients and internal teams to align on direction early
• Collaborate with engineering on feasibility and phasing, proposing simpler alternatives where a design is disproportionately expensive to build
• Contribute to and extend the shared design system rather than designing in isolation
• Write clear design rationale so that decisions survive a change of team
• Run usability testing sessions and turn findings into prioritised design changes
• Mentor junior designers on process and craft

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 2-3 years of experience designing digital products in a product or agency environment
• Portfolio showing at least two products where you were involved before the design phase and after handover
• Proficiency in Figma for design, prototyping, and collaborative working
• Practical experience with user research methods and comfort talking directly to users
• Understanding of how product metrics and analytics inform design decisions
• Ability to work within technical and commercial constraints without treating them as an obstacle
• Strong facilitation and presentation skills for workshops and client sessions
• Experience collaborating in an agile delivery team alongside engineers
• Evidence of judgement: examples of designs you argued against, or scope you removed
