Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for a UX Researcher with two to three years of experience to bring evidence into the design process for our clients in Pune. You will plan and run research that answers questions teams actually have, and report findings in a way that changes what gets built. This is a practical research role in a delivery environment: studies are measured in days rather than months, and the value is in the decision the work informs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and run qualitative research including user interviews, contextual enquiry, and moderated usability testing
- Design and run unmoderated studies and surveys where the question suits a larger sample
- Work with product managers and designers to turn vague concerns into researchable questions
- Recruit and schedule participants matching the target user profile, managing consent and incentives
- Analyse qualitative data and identify patterns, distinguishing signal from a single loud opinion
- Combine behavioural data from analytics with qualitative findings to give a fuller picture
- Produce clear, short research reports with prioritised, actionable recommendations
- Present findings to clients and internal teams, including findings people did not want to hear
- Build and maintain a research repository so that past findings are reusable rather than repeated
- Run benchmark usability testing to measure whether redesigns actually improved anything
- Advocate for user needs in planning and prioritisation discussions
- Coach designers and product managers to run their own lightweight research well
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Anthropology, Design, or a related field
- 2-3 years of experience conducting user research on digital products
- Practical experience with both moderated and unmoderated usability testing
- Strong interviewing skills, including the discipline not to lead a participant
- Ability to analyse qualitative data systematically rather than by impression
- Working knowledge of quantitative methods including survey design and basic statistics
- Familiarity with analytics tools and comfort reading behavioural data
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with report writing samples available
- Experience with research tools such as Maze, UserTesting, Dovetail, or similar
- Ability to work at delivery pace without abandoning methodological rigour
What We Offer
- Competitive salary benchmarked to mid-level market rates in Pune
- Ownership of real product decisions rather than production-only work
- Budget for design tooling, conferences and courses
- Hybrid working with flexible hours around core collaboration time
- Health insurance for you and your immediate family
- A design team small enough that your work is visible and credited
