Logistics Coordinator

About the Role

We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator with one to three years of experience to manage outbound movements from our Pune warehouse. You will book vehicles, plan routes and loads, keep customers informed, and deal with the delays and exceptions that come up every day. The role sits between the warehouse floor, transport partners and customers, so most of the work is coordination under time pressure.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan daily dispatch schedules and allocate consignments to vehicles and transport partners
• Book vehicles, negotiate spot freight rates within approved limits, and confirm loading windows
• Prepare and verify transport documentation including e-way bills, LR copies and delivery challans
• Track shipments in transit and update customers proactively when a delivery will be late
• Resolve delivery exceptions including failed deliveries, damage claims and shortages
• Coordinate with the warehouse team so that loads are staged and ready before vehicles arrive
• Monitor transporter performance against on-time delivery and damage rates, and raise persistent failures
• Reconcile freight invoices against agreed rates and approved consignments before payment
• Maintain records of proof of delivery and close open consignments promptly
• Optimise load planning and route grouping to reduce cost per delivery
• Support reverse logistics, including pickup scheduling for returns
• Report daily dispatch and delivery performance to the warehouse manager

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; a qualification in logistics or supply chain is an advantage
• 1-3 years of experience in logistics coordination, dispatch or transport operations
• Familiarity with road freight operations in and around Pune and Maharashtra
• Working knowledge of GST transport documentation and e-way bill generation
• Good Excel skills for dispatch planning and freight reconciliation
• Confident on the phone with transporters and customers, including difficult conversations about delays
• Ability to hold several open consignments in view at once and prioritise sensibly
• Clear communication in English, Hindi and preferably Marathi
• Comfortable working to daily dispatch cut-off times
