React Developer (Mid-Level)

About the Role

We are seeking a mid-level React Developer with two to three years of experience to join our engineering team in Pune. You will build and maintain production React applications for clients across sectors, working as a full contributing member of a delivery team rather than under close supervision. The role is the natural next step for a developer who has outgrown junior work but is not yet leading a team, and it comes with a defined route to senior.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain production React applications using modern hooks-based patterns and functional components
• Implement state management appropriate to the problem, using Context, Redux Toolkit, or a query cache as the situation warrants
• Integrate front-end applications with REST and GraphQL APIs, handling authentication, caching, and error states
• Write unit and integration tests using Jest and React Testing Library, and keep them passing
• Translate designs into accessible, responsive components that match the specification
• Profile and optimise application performance including re-render behaviour, bundle size, and lazy loading
• Participate in code review, giving specific feedback and acting on feedback received
• Break feature requirements into estimable tasks and report progress honestly against them
• Debug production issues, including reproducing intermittent faults reported by clients
• Contribute to shared component libraries and internal engineering standards
• Work with designers and backend developers as an equal party in technical discussions
• Mentor junior developers on the team through pairing and review

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 2-3 years of professional React development experience on production applications
• Strong JavaScript ES6+ fundamentals, including asynchronous patterns and the event loop
• Working experience with TypeScript in a React codebase
• Solid understanding of React rendering behaviour, hooks rules, and common performance pitfalls
• Experience consuming REST APIs and handling real-world network conditions
• Practical testing experience with Jest and React Testing Library
• Competent with Git in a branching team workflow, including resolving conflicts
• Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
• Ability to work independently on a feature from ticket to deployment
