Data Analyst

About the Role

We are hiring a Data Analyst with two to three years of experience to join our team in Pune. You will turn client data into answers that inform real decisions, building the queries, models, and dashboards that make that possible. We value analysts who state what the data does not show as readily as what it does, and who check a surprising result before reporting it.

Key Responsibilities

• Write and optimise SQL queries against client databases and data warehouses
• Build and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Studio
• Analyse business data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities, and quantify their size
• Work with stakeholders to turn a vague question into a specific, answerable one
• Validate data quality and investigate discrepancies rather than reporting around them
• Automate recurring reporting using Python or scheduled queries
• Present findings clearly to non-technical audiences, stating confidence and limitations
• Build and maintain documentation covering data sources, definitions, and known caveats
• Support A/B test design and analysis, including sample size and significance
• Work with engineering on data pipeline requirements and data model changes
• Maintain a consistent set of metric definitions so numbers agree across reports
• Handle client data in line with confidentiality and data protection requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field
• 2-3 years of experience in a data analysis role
• Strong SQL including joins, window functions, CTEs, and query optimisation
• Practical experience building dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, or an equivalent tool
• Python for data work, particularly pandas, or equivalent scripting ability
• Sound grasp of descriptive statistics and the common ways an analysis misleads
• Experience working with imperfect real-world data and documenting its limitations
• Clear communication skills, including writing up findings for a business audience
• Attention to detail and the habit of verifying a result before circulating it
• Exposure to Google Analytics or a comparable web analytics platform is an advantage
