Junior AI Engineer

About the Role

We are hiring a Junior AI Engineer with up to a year of professional or equivalent project experience to join our AI practice in Pune. You will work under senior engineers building and deploying machine learning models for client products, with enough ownership to grow quickly and enough oversight that mistakes are learning, not incidents. This suits someone past internship level who wants a structured next step into production AI work.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, train, and evaluate machine learning models for client applications
• Write and maintain data pipelines for training and inference
• Implement models using TensorFlow or PyTorch and hand them off cleanly for deployment
• Run experiments, track results, and report findings in a way a senior engineer can act on
• Contribute to feature engineering and data quality checks
• Fix bugs in existing model code and pipelines under guidance
• Write unit and integration tests for ML code
• Document model behaviour, assumptions, and known limitations
• Participate in code review and take feedback on both code and modelling choices
• Keep current with commonly used ML tooling and techniques

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
• Up to 1 year of professional experience in machine learning or AI, including a strong internship
• Working proficiency in Python and at least one ML framework (TensorFlow or PyTorch)
• Understanding of core ML concepts: supervised learning, evaluation metrics, overfitting, and train/test splits
• Basic SQL for querying and preparing training data
• Ability to read a model evaluation and explain what it means in plain terms
• Git and collaborative development practices
• Willingness to be closely mentored and to ask questions early rather than late
