AI Engineer (Computer Vision)

About the Role

We are hiring an AI Engineer with two to three years of experience to build computer vision features for client products in Pune — detection, classification, and image or video pipelines that run in production, not just in a research notebook. You will take a vision problem from a client brief through to a deployed, monitored model, and be the person the team turns to when something in the pipeline looks wrong.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and train computer vision models for detection, classification, and segmentation tasks
• Build image and video data pipelines, including augmentation and quality checks
• Fine-tune pretrained vision models for client-specific datasets
• Optimise inference for real-time or resource-constrained deployment, including model quantisation where needed
• Deploy vision models as services and integrate them with client applications
• Set up evaluation pipelines with metrics appropriate to the task, such as IoU or mAP, not just accuracy
• Debug failure cases by inspecting model output against real images, not only aggregate metrics
• Monitor deployed vision models for performance drift as input conditions change
• Document dataset provenance, labelling conventions, and model limitations
• Collaborate with backend engineers on the systems that serve model predictions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 2-3 years of experience building computer vision models for production use
• Strong Python and hands-on experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch for vision tasks
• Practical experience with detection or segmentation architectures and transfer learning
• Understanding of image data pipelines, including augmentation and handling class imbalance
• Experience optimising models for inference speed, including quantisation or pruning
• Familiarity with deploying vision models as services, including handling image/video input at scale
• Comfortable debugging model behaviour by examining actual predictions on real data
• Experience with a cloud platform for training or serving models
