Cybersecurity Intern

About the Role

A six-month internship with the security team in Pune, working alongside analysts who monitor client infrastructure. You will triage alerts from the SIEM, run vulnerability scans against staging environments, document what you find, and chase remediation with engineering teams. Expect scripted log analysis, phishing report review, and written incident summaries that managers and clients actually read.

Key Responsibilities

• Triage security alerts from the SIEM and escalate confirmed incidents to senior analysts
• Run scheduled vulnerability scans on staging systems and record findings in the tracker
• Review reported phishing emails, extract indicators, and add them to blocklists
• Write short incident summaries covering what happened, impact, and recommended remediation steps
• Script routine log parsing and report generation in Python to reduce manual work
• Follow up with engineering teams on open remediation items and update status

Requirements

• Final-year student or recent graduate in computer science, IT, or a related field
• No prior professional experience required; coursework, labs, or personal projects are welcome
• Working knowledge of Python scripting and Linux command line fundamentals
• Understanding of networking basics including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and common attack types
• Clear written English for incident notes read by clients and managers
• Available full time in Pune for a six-month internship starting immediately
